Cantonese eatery offers this giveaway deal to celebrate its first anniversary at ION Orchard!
This sounds too good to be true but it's true - Canton-I is offering its delicious soya-sauce chicken for only $1 at dinner time.
The whole 1kg chicken, which normally costs $24, is being offered at a give-away price to celebrate its first anniversary.
You don't need to have a minimum order of food in order to enjoy the whole chicken. But you have to settle your little bill by DBS/POSB cards, which most of us have.
Also, you must come in a group of at least three people.
The chicken, which can feed three to four persons, is slow braised for four hours with superior soya sauces, spices and aromatic herbs like tang kuei for four hours.
The glossy golden bird is chopped up before it's served with a tasty ginger-spring onion sauce.
It's certainly well braised with the tender chicken absorbing the flavours of the seasonings including the sweetly aromatic rose dew liquer.
If you want to enjoy this treat, which is available from 6 pm to 9pm only till October 14, it's better to make a reservation.
A group of four youths asked for the chicken only and nothing else, but that's okay, said operations manager Rosalind Leong.
"We just want to thank our customers and celebrate with us our first anniversary at ION Orchard," she said.
But I feel you should order the other good dishes at this eatery.
Some recommendations: Signature porridge, wonton noodles, roast duck and the lemongrass drink.
Remember, the last day to devour the $1 chicken is October 14.
